I loved the guy, though I could tell he wasn't a great teacher. I'm also an engineer, so his half of the class was cake. His exam took about half an hour for me compared to the rest of the class taking the full (hour fifteen) time, so I'm biased. If you are like me and good at math, he's cake.
This class is awful both cannon and manning make an awful team and are very condescending. They act fake and nice, but if you aren't there favorite they will treat you very subjectively which is very childish in nature. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS CLASS FOR ANYONE. Very harsh grader, and awful material that seems irrelevant for the major.
Very nice guy, however he goes WAY to fast over lecture material, and then hands you a 3-4 hour assignment without any sort of explanation of the material and what you are supposed to do with it. Harsh grader that can never give full points on anything so be warned, also uses the plus minus system even if it will hurt you.
He's a fairly nice guy, and the lectures weren't TOO boring, but he is a really, really critical grader. His tests are hard, but not impossible, you just have to study extra hard for them and read the book. He is fairly unwilling to budge when you ask him for points back.
I enjoyed this professor enough to take his class again. He is always in his office if you need him. His lectures are boring, however, he posts all the slides. Read the book and participate in the class and you will do okay. It is difficult to get an A in the course.
overall he was alright,,but his lectures were sooooooooooooooooo boring,,make sure u bring ur pillows for his lecture, his exams weren't so bad,if u study his powerpoint slides.
THis professor means well but does a very poor job. His class is boring and the material is unorganized and boring. His presentation and level of understanding to students is sub par. He is a very difficult grader and acts like he will help you, but when it comes time for questions or confrontation he runs away and dodges the subjects. I would avoid any class with him if possible. He also tries to act cool and relate to the student, but he is not able to even remotely be understanding.
I guess he's a nice guy but something about him just rubbed me the wrong way. He has very poor organization skills and he can get a bit moody. The class is a bit of a bore but if you really try there is some interesting material to be learned. The project isn't too much work. The test get progressivly harder. All and all Manning is a good guy.
Possibly one of the worst professors I have had at CSU. He starts out the semester with a laid back attitude and acts like the class it going to be fun and interesting. A few weeks later class attendance drops by over half (because lecture is soooo boring), and you find out he is a very hard and critical grader. His project is a joke. He never really gives you a structure for it, and then when he grades your paper he is very harsh. I would recommend switching classes.
Manning is a nice guy. His class is boring, and he asks like he is such a laid back grader but he IS NOT! You have to do these group projects and he makes it seem like he is going to give everyone a good grade, but he is a very extreamely critical grader, probably one of the most critical graders I have ever had. His tests are half multiple choice and half open answers.
3 words come to mind: Stricter Hiring ProcessWhoever hired this chump should be fired along with him.
Incredibly boring, subjective grading, horrible preparation and presentation skills (he's a MARKETING professor). Wouldn't want him to teach my preschooler.
Semester long team project not too difficult, keeps class interesting with random videos, ect. I'm pretty sure he tracks attendance for benefit of doubt type reasons. |
